Elite Nannies was established by Kim O'Shea in 1994. Having previously worked as a recruitment consultant for a busy London agency and having past experience as a nanny and maternity nurse, she recognised the need for an agency that offers a quality service to its clients and staff alike. "At last,a nanny agency that has the best interests of both employers and nannies at heart!"
Elite Nannies takes the time to listen to your requirements and tries to match nannies and clients, not only by their experience and training, but personalities too."Kim is a true professional, reacting quickly & efficiently to our needs but also taking the time to try to match the nannies' personality types to what she knows of our family."
We interview ALL applicants personally and check references as far back as possible, before introducing them to potential families. "The key qualities offered by Kim are the ability to make sound judgements of character and her rigorous approach to interpreting and checking references"
If the nannies are qualified we ask to see original documents, or if they cannot be supplied, will confirm their qualification with the governing body.
We ask that all our nannies obtain a recent First Aid certificate, which should be renewed every 3 years.
From 2003 anyone working with children should hold an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). We advise our staff if they haven't already done so, to undertake a CRB check, for this we use an umbrella body called Civil & Corporate.
After interviewing nannies and checking references and qualifications, we discuss the positions available with the staff considered suitable. "Elite is one of the few agencies who actually listen to what you want in a job and make sure they only tell you about the RIGHT job for you!"
If they are interested in a position we will call the families and discuss the candidate's details with them to see if they seem initially compatible.
If they agree, we will then send on the candidate's details for the parents' consideration. From this stage an interview can be arranged by the agency, or if they are willing, telephone numbers can be given out so the parties can speak to each other, to discuss the position further and arrange a convenient time for an interview.
We encourage at least 2 interviews before a position is offered and accepted, to be sure all relevant points have been discussed. Although we check references as a matter of policy, we always encourage our clients to speak to previous employers too.
Contracts should ideally be drawn up and signed before the position starts, but legally within the first 8 weeks of employment. A draft contract can be supplied by the agency on request.
It is our policy to speak to both staff and clients during the 1st/2nd week of employment, to see if the arrangement is working out to everyone's satisfaction.
We offer advice and guidance to our clients and staff not only through the interview process, but at any time throughout their employment.
Happy nannies = happy children = happy parents!
